Dub vs. Sub Review:
Voice Acting Japanese - The Japanese cast has several very talented seiyuu, including Hikaru Midorikawa. They all do a great job. English - The English voices are provided by the Ocean Group. Despite their poor performance in the early DBZ dub, they prove that they CAN act, and pretty darn well at that. Music The same music is used in both the English and Japanese version, which is always a plus. Dialogue Translation The dub of Endless Waltz stayed true to the original dialogue. The sentences were sometimes worded in a different order (That is, the same words were used, just in a different order), but they stay true to the original translation. Important Names They left the names alone. Plot The plot was left entirely alone. Censorship The version of the dub included on the DVD is uncensored, but the version shown on Cartoon Network was censored. Some things that were censored were: Violence - They removed what little blood there was Kat's Opinion I actually like each version about equally. Gundam Wing is one of the few series that I've seen that was dubbed so well that I usually watch it in English by default...and I usually watch my anime subtitled by default. |
